My first project - 2019
My first custom closet project was a townhouse I purchased in 2019. I don’t have any “before” photos because I purchased before it was build and asked the builder not to install the typical single shelf with a clothing rod. Since I had just discovered freedomRail, I wanted to use it for all the storage areas.
Pantry/Laundry
I started with the pantry/laundry since I had never installed a top-rail system before, and I didn’t want to risk first-timer mistakes on my main bedroom closet.
So instead of a single shelf over the washer/dryer, I installed this:

Main Bedroom Closet
The main bedroom was on the 3rd floor and had a balcony with a view of downtown Austin. The closet was an odd shape and had no door. If I was entertaining on the balcony, guests would have to walk through it to get to the bathroom, so it had to look great.
In addition to what was mounted on the wall, I bought a few extra components and created a matching bench for seating and additional shoe storage.
I moved the shelves around a few times in the 4+ years I lived there, and I took some shelves and cabinets with me when I moved. These pictures were taken by my realtor when I sold it, so this is what I left for the next owner - minus the shoe bench. I brought that with me to my new condo

I was thrilled with the way both the pantry and closet turned out!
